1. Who is the data controller
prenatalcalculator.com ("we", "us") is the data controller for the personal data we process on the India edition. You can contact us at hello@prenatalcalculator.com.
2. What data we collect
2a. Information you provide directly
If you choose to contact us by email or fill in a contact form, we receive:
- Your name (if you provide one)
- Your email address
- The message you write to us
2b. Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider logs:
- Your IP address (anonymised after 30 days)
- Browser type and version
- Device type (mobile, desktop)
- Pages visited and time spent
- Referring website (which site sent you here)
This information is collected for security (to detect abuse) and analytics (to understand which tools are useful).
2c. Information you input into calculators
Critically: the data you type into our calculators (due dates, baby weights, names you're considering, salary figures, etc.) stays in your browser. We do not transmit this to our server. We do not save it. We do not see it.
3. What we do NOT collect
- We do not require you to create an account
- We do not ask for your phone number for tool access
- We do not ask for your full name, address, or government ID
- We do not store your medical history, pregnancy details, or family information
4. Cookies
We use minimal cookies:
- Strictly necessary: session cookies for the site to function (no consent required under Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDP Act) and the Information Technology Act 2000)
- Analytics: we may use privacy-respecting analytics (no third-party tracking pixels by default)
You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Most tools will continue to work without cookies.
5. Third parties
Our website is hosted by Hostinger, who processes web server logs as a data processor on our behalf. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with marketing companies, data brokers, or advertisers.
6. Your rights under Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDP Act) and the Information Technology Act 2000
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access: Ask us what data we hold about you
- Right of rectification: Ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Right of erasure: Ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Right to restrict processing: Ask us to stop using your data
- Right to data portability: Ask us to provide your data in a machine-readable format
- Right to object: Object to certain processing activities
- Right to lodge a complaint: Complain to your supervisory authority
To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@prenatalcalculator.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law (typically 30 days).
7. Data retention
- Email correspondence: kept for 12 months unless you ask for earlier deletion
- Web server logs: retained for 30 days, then deleted
- Analytics data: aggregated, retained for 24 months
8. Children's privacy
The Site is intended for adults (parents, caregivers, healthcare workers). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
9. International transfers
Our hosting infrastructure may store data in data centres outside India. Where data is transferred internationally, we use appropriate safeguards as required by Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDP Act) and the Information Technology Act 2000.
10. Security
We use HTTPS encryption for all pages. Our hosting provider applies industry-standard security measures. However, no internet transmission is 100% secure.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any change. Material changes will be announced on the homepage.
