India State Scheme Finder
State Scheme Finder for Mothers & Children
Each Indian state runs its own schemes for pregnant women, new mothers, and children on top of central government schemes like PMMVY. Tamil Nadu's Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy scheme pays ₹18,000. MP's Ladli Lakshmi totals ₹1.18 lakh for a girl child. Bihar's Mukhyamantri Kanya Utthan pays ₹54,100. Most parents don't know what their state offers. This finder shows all available schemes for your state, pregnancy stage, and child gender. All inputs stay in your browser.

Available Schemes in Your State
How to apply: Most state schemes require Aadhaar, bank account, residence proof, MCP card, and birth certificate (for child schemes). Apply through your Anganwadi worker (free help), your district Mahila Bal Vikas Vibhag office, or the state government online portal. ASHA workers can help you understand which schemes apply to your specific situation.
कौन सी schemes सबसे ज्यादा help करती हैं? Which schemes provide the most help?
It depends on your state and circumstances. For girl child long-term savings: Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana (up to ₹50 lakh at 21) is universally the best. For immediate cash during pregnancy: combine PMMVY (₹6,000 central) + state scheme + Janani Suraksha Yojana (₹600-₹1,400). States with the most generous immediate cash include Tamil Nadu (Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy ₹18,000), Odisha (Mamata ₹5,000), Madhya Pradesh (Mukhyamantri Janani Sahayog ₹4,000). For girl child education: Ladli Lakshmi (MP ₹1.18 lakh), Kanyashree (WB), Bhagyalakshmi (KA ₹1 lakh).
क्या मुझे एक से ज्यादा scheme मिल सकती है? Can I claim multiple schemes?
Yes mostly. Central and state schemes typically don't conflict. You can claim PMMVY (₹6,000 central) AND your state scheme AND Janani Suraksha Yojana simultaneously. Some restrictions: PMMVY and your state's primary maternity scheme may overlap (Odisha uses Mamata instead of PMMVY). Some BPL-only schemes require BPL card. Girl-only schemes obviously only for girls. Most schemes don't have an income cap, but BPL families get priority and faster processing. Apply for everything you may qualify for. They verify eligibility separately.
Scheme के लिए कौन से documents चाहिए? What documents are needed for state schemes?
Standard set: Aadhaar card (mother + husband + child after birth), bank account passbook (Aadhaar-linked, in mother's name), MCP card from Anganwadi, residence proof (electricity bill, voter ID, ration card), birth certificate (for child schemes), BPL ration card (if applicable), caste certificate (for SC/ST scheme benefits), income certificate (issued by Tehsildar) if income-tested. Most documents are free to obtain. Get help from your local CSC (Common Service Centre) or Anganwadi if needed.
State schemes online apply होती हैं या offline? Are state schemes applied online or offline?
Mixed. Major states with strong digital governance (Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, Delhi) have online portals. UP, Bihar, MP, Rajasthan have hybrid models. Apply online OR through Anganwadi. Smaller states largely use Anganwadi-based application. The Anganwadi worker route is recommended for all because: (1) zero technical knowledge needed, (2) document verification is automatic, (3) less risk of fraud, (4) faster follow-up if there's a problem. If applying online, use the OFFICIAL state government domain (.gov.in only).
Money कब और कैसे आती है? When and how is the scheme money paid?
All major schemes use DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) directly to your Aadhaar-linked bank account. No cash payments at offices or to officials. Cheques are not used. Typical timelines: PMMVY first installment within 30 days of registration. State maternity schemes 30-60 days. Birth-linked schemes (₹1,400 for institutional delivery) usually credited within a week of hospital discharge. School scholarships at start of academic year. If money is delayed beyond 60 days, check your bank account is Aadhaar-linked and use the grievance redressal number for your state.
क्या Anganwadi में सब कुछ free है? Is everything at Anganwadi free?
Yes everything at Anganwadi and government health facilities related to maternity and child welfare is 100% free. No registration fees. No service fees. No middleman fees. Anganwadi worker (Anganwadi sevika), ASHA worker, ANM (Auxiliary Nurse Midwife) are all paid by the government to help you for free. Services include: pregnancy registration, ANC check-ups (Anganwadi or sub-centre), free supplementary nutrition (THR - Take Home Ration), maternity scheme registration, immunizations, growth monitoring of child up to 6 years, pre-school education. If anyone asks for money, refuse and report.
क्या I am eligible for schemes if I move to a different state? What if I move states?
Most state schemes have residence requirements (typically domiciled in that state for 3+ years). If you move to a new state during pregnancy, you may lose access to the original state scheme. Plan moves carefully. Some states have reciprocal arrangements (Karnataka and Andhra). Central schemes (PMMVY, JSY, Sukanya Samriddhi) work across India regardless of where you move. If you move with a partially-paid state scheme, contact the state office in writing to request continuation, transfer, or completion of remaining installments. Outcomes vary by state.
